Backup Internet Saved My Week
How I added a T-Mobile 5G backup to my UniFi Dream Machine for $20 a month after almost a week of Verizon outages.
Verizon has been having a rough week at my house. I’ve had internet outages for almost a week now, so I decided to use my UniFi Dream Machine to add a second internet connection. That internet connection is a T-Mobile 5G backup plan which only gives me 100 hours a month. I had to wire a few cables myself and set up the box, and I pay $20 a month to always have internet either through Verizon or T-Mobile. Now my machine switches over automatically. However, I still have to go into the app and tap on start backup because it’s not always running. Because again, I only get 100 hours. It’s kept me online through the Verizon outages. If your ISP keeps flaking out, $20 a month is cheap insurance.
