The machine everything runs on. Fast, silent, and the battery genuinely lasts all day — I don't think about my hardware anymore, which is exactly the point.

5K at 27 inches, which means text is as sharp as it is on the laptop screen — once you have worked on one all day, a 4K panel never quite looks right again. One cable carries video, power, and peripherals, so the desk stays clean and the laptop docks by plugging in a single thing.

I bought the legs and put my own top on them, which is the move: you get a solid, quiet motor and memory presets without paying the markup on somebody else’s laminate slab. Height presets mean standing up is one button rather than a decision.

Mine is old and it has not sagged, squeaked, or worn through — which is the entire argument for spending this much on a chair once instead of replacing a cheap one every few years. Sit in one before you buy; it is a specific feel, and the people who like it really like it.

The AI I actually use all day — coding, writing, and untangling hard problems out loud. It's the tool I reach for most.

I was a WeatherTech guy for years — these are better. The fit is exact, and the walls come up high on the sides, so the salt, slush, and gravel that used to end up on the carpet stays in the mat. The material quality is a clear step up too.
